Maps will be 4k from now on. At least the mainland. The current map is using almost 15 gigs of memory and started out at about 10. The new build of Unity is very resource hungry. I may use 6k maps at some point. But it will be a 4k map inside of a 6k ocean with arenas along the edge of the map. So I'll run one of those on the Test server at some point and see how it goes.
The next map will most likely be a procgen since the Giant Excavator Monument seems to be coming in this update.
You will no longer be able to buy the quarry in /s. You will either have to get one in an airdrop or /craft it.
Since pump jacks are back, Coal will be taken out of the quarry bonus loot table. I'll probably remove Metal Fragments as well they don't really add any useful bonus since the level is so low. Also because the server is half decay and has the zlevels plugin running. The quarries and pump jacks don't need to run at a 2x rate. After a week or less, the average base is fully maintained as far as upkeep goes (sometimes for the whole month depending on the size) and a single quarry is more than enough to handle a decent sized base.
There will be a new event. Rad Storms. They'll roll in at random and the radiation will gradually rise. You can either put on a hazmat suit. Run into your base. Build a quick shelter. Or seek shelter inside a monument. If you choose to stay outside you'll get a gather bonus.
You will be able to ride more animals with the rideable horse plugin(/stop or bind whateverkey chat.say /stop). How many? Which ones? You'll have to figure that out when the wipe comes.
It won't be next wipe. Most likely the following. But /s and RustRewards will have been fully reworked. I'm not going to make it so RP is hard to come by. But I am going to give it value. As it stands now, most players can buy whatever they want., whenever they want, after several days on the server. Including the highest tier items. I intend to make it so selling your useless crap to the store (Yes. It's coming back.) will help you gain money. But you'll have to sell a decent amount of it. So hoarders rejoice. All that time in Skyrim will payoff now.
I'm not going for RPG store prices where you have to pay $379,950 for a Rocket Launcher but can only sell your Road SignJacket for $10. But a decent balance somewhere in between. So it'll take me a bit to figure it out. This is why I keep putting it off.
Eventually there will be stores with NPCs located around the map that you have to go to in order to make these transactions. But for now everything will be handled through /s.
