I thought this was PvE. Who just killed me?Nobody. You were killed by an NPC. There's a lot of 'em. You'll run into a horde of zombies soon, if you haven't already. Almost every type of bot has custom gear. So chances are you aren't going to be able to tell who's who until you've been on here for a bit. Players are unable to kill each other on the server unless purge is running. So it's best to take a shot to make sure it's a player or a bot since almost all bots have custom gear.. You'll get a response on screen telling you not to shoot other players if it's not an NPC. Once you get that, just stop. If you keep going you will be penalized. Many people complain about the NPCs basically being AIMBOT.exe But I've set "my" gun bots (Scientists) to a much lower setting than most servers. If you're talking about the Oil Rig, Excavator, Military Tunnel or Junk Pile Bots. Those are all Vanilla. I have no control over their AI. All I do is set what they look like. I can change their guns too. But that's only caused issues in the past. The Zombies (Hordes) however, are much faster. This is so you can't just walk backwards and pick them off one by one. You gotta run. There has to be some challenge to them.

Where did my base go?There's a number of things that can happen to your base. There are world events that can damage or destroy your base. I try to make that very clear to you when you first join, as well as in /ui Airsrikes and Meteor Showers can damage your base. Depending on the placement of your TC, your base can decay if the TC is destroyed in the attack. You need to build with safety in mind. Also don't leave your base as twig or wood for too long as a Meteor Shower can burn a lot of it down since fire spreads. A heli attack will also damage and or destroy your base. So again. If your base is wood, or poorly built and a heli crashes on top of it. You can lose your base as a result of it. Nothing is sacred here. The server is running at full decay. So you need to put resources into your TC. Pretty simple. But there's been a fair number of players that have lost their bases because of this. So stock your TC please. You cannot just build something next to your base. It has to be connected. While it would make sense that the TC radius would cover other buildings in this area. It even says that you have building priv. It just doesn't work like that, and anything you build will decay if it's not connected to a TC. Rust logic (no logic). After 7 days of inactivity, your base will be considered abandoned and become raidable. This is to keep the server running smoothly by clearing up unused entities and give players something to do. There are ways to keep your base on the sever though. If you team up with other players, and they have TC access, the base will remain on the server as long as someone logs in within the 7 day period. Some may say that this is unfair. But honestly. If you don't log onto the game in a week? Generally it means you've left the server and the base is just taking up real estate and server resources. And with the tools/perks/items available. It's not hard to get the resources to set up a base to last all month within a weeks time. And just abandon it. And that's why this plugin is in place. Also players like to raid things.

Someone stole my (whatever). WTF?If you mean someone looted your boxes, quarry, pump jack etc. It was your teammate, friend. Nobody else can access your containers. They have to be on your team before they can even access your TC. If you mean a vehicle or horse. Please go to the Security tab in /ui This will tell you how to lock your vehicles and horses with a codelock. The server is set to prevent decay on all vehicles within TC radius using a plugin. Horses require food to maintain health. So place a trough and fill it with food. Security is a top concern on this server and has been since the beginning. I have built a PvE/anti-griefing system from the ground up, and has been one of the core aspects of the server. Granted this is Rust and plugins can break with server updates. But generally it was a teammate or player error. However this doesn't mean you shouldn't report it. I need to know if something went wrong so I can look into it. Bugs can't be squished if I'm not aware. Just make sure you've double checked the plugin info (/ui) and ask your friend if they took anything out of storage recently.

What do I do with RUSTNOTES?These are to be deposited into ATM machines located around them map. When they are deposited they go into your "account" and you can then use that money in the store (/s). I try to make this clear. You're told what to do with the welcome screen each time you log on. The first two times you connect each wipe, you're given a note that explains it. It's explained in the first tab of /ui And it says what to do in the name of the item itself 🙂

What is this thing? What does it do?Check out the Special Items tab in /ui There's a lot of custom/special items on the server. Not all of them are listed. Gotta have a few Easter Eggs on here :) But for the most part, you'll find everything in this section. Basically if it has a skin, it's a special item. With the exception of a few standard items. I either got bored and wanted to have fun. PornHub Terminal for example. Or there isn't an appropriate skin for it yet. Like the simple lights or cable tunnels. Also. A lot of the time you can tell what it is and what it does if you just take the time to read the name. It's there for a reason. The default description of the item is generally meaningless. A great example of this are the food items you gather for Cooking (Open a BBQ and click the ORANGE button). They're "Blood" as the base item and say that they're used in the crafting of Medkits. They aren't. Not even in Vanilla crafting. So just look at the picture and the name and go from there. Another thing to know about these items. Do not change the skin. If you do, it'll no longer work. Doesn't matter if you think it's ugly. It is what it is. You change it. You break it. There's also some trash loot. Take paper for example. What's it do? Well you can recycle it for wood. Will it have a purpose in the future? Just check the crafting and mixing plugins and see what the requirements are to make things. I could make a page in /ui listing all the useless drop items. But that's really not practical. Part of the game is figuring things out. You can save a lot of time just having rustlabs.com in your bookmarks.

What happened? Where did this go? Why is this different?Join the discord to get updates to any and all server changes. Seriously. Join it. https://discord.gg/R8hC5Uh Also when you join the discord, if you're playing Rust, right click and message "Fusioin Bot" (under the SKYNET group) the command /dc join , and then paste the command it gives you into the Rust game chat and your accounts/ranks will be linked.

Why does everything wipe?Honestly it's because it would kill the server if it didn't. You keep your skill points because you really have to grind to earn those. And you respec them every wipe so you can try a different approach to the game if you want. Once you cap out you can use skill extractors to sell off your excess to lower level players. I will eventually add more skills to the server. But I haven't really figured all that out yet. For now you have access to the stock skills. As far as everything else? This is why. Backpacks: If you kept the contents and level of your backpacks every wipe, you wouldn't have to play the game. Starting off with a full size backpack stuffed with everything you need to build a full base and all the top tier gear you need basically takes away from needing to do anything. I mean sure. You can run around and shoot things. But having a full epic gear set, 15x pick, enough ammo to kill bosses for days, a stack of RustNotes to bypass the bank wipe, etc. It really kills the point of playing Rust. Bank Account: Most players have a stacked account by the end of wipe. You only need to buy so much before it starts to pile up. If you were to start the game off with all this money, you could buy just about everything you need. Once again killing the point of playing the game. Blueprints: This should be in Vanilla rust anyway. It's really simple to build through the tech tree. And even more so on a server where you can buy the items you want to research. Starting the wipe with all the BPs you want/need is OP. In short this. This is just to keep play time on the server interesting and active. I know some players are use to servers with no wipe. But that's not how things are run here. I was considering reworking the economic system to have a wipe schedule. In concept I would wipe every 3 months or something like that. But then that would effect players who are new to the server and would be unfair to them if they lost all their work. I could get a plugin to make BPs harder to research. Restrict what you can keep in your backpack. But once again. Conflict with the general population of the players. This system just works in general and seems to be the most fair for the years the server has been running.

This is broken. WTF is this? I don't understand it. Nothing works. Your server is trash. Please read through /ui before reporting plugin issues. I've spent a lot of time explaining everything in there. The server is complicated and has a lot of plugins. As such. The game play is different than standard rust. So if something is confusing or different. It doesn't always mean it's broken. But if it is. Join the discord if you haven't already, and post it on the 🕷bug-report🕷 channel. Aside from that. If you don't like it, go play official and REEEE all you want.
